Boo on the Olympic Oval

Steph and I tried to go running yesterday. To make a very long story short -- they charge $2.50 a person to run on the track at the oval! That is A LOT of money! I am boycotting the oval (unless it's Wednesday and free for me.)

We then bought ear muffs so we could run outside -- but we were dressed too dark and it was too slippery.

Fate didn't want us to work out!

So we laughed at dear man Fate and paid to have Steph go to the Gym with me. I would rather pay the rec center $5 for one person to use the equipment than the Oval $5 for both of us to use the track ... just on principal!

It wasn't a super hard workout. This week we are going w 5 minute walk 2 minute jog -- repeat 4 times. Our goal is to build endurance so that we can consistently run for 5+ miles without too much pain.

I am SO glad that I went with Steph. It is much easier to go with someone than to go by yourself. It is nice to have someone to push you further than you would go if you were by yourself. Let's face it ... we Stohels are competitive ... having someone next to us is a good tactic.

I think that it will be hard to do it on my own ... but I think that it will be harder for Steph. She has the opportunity to sleep in. Easy thing to do. Yeah, we both will be good at first -- I mean how long do New Resolutions typically last? 3-5 weeks? I think that if I am going at night ... it will help get her bum up in the morning. I feel it my responsibility to be the leader (again ... older sister in me). SO because of that -- I am getting my lazy tooshy out of the house tonight so that she will be motivated come Monday morning.
